One student project in visual rhetoric utilized the website PInterest, which allows users to upload and share image content, then combine and organize it by a central topic or theme. In the sample piece, a student created a composite image from five separate images found on Pinterest. The student analyzes the rhetoric behind each individual image, then explores how their significance and identity changes when they are combined. The central manner in which they all fit together is the core visual of the arms, representing how authors and audiences must constantly juggle the meanings behind visual rhetoric.
