There are a TON of groups on facebook adn hashtags that you can follow on Twitter. Most organizations have a group or a page on Facebook that you can then look at to see other things you can or should follow.
If you are a TPC person, then LInkedIn is a resource that has a lot of groups that you should pay attention to by searching on key terms.
